In 2009, we moved into our new Facility at 413 S Vandemark Rd.. This building provides a climate controlled area for all of our vehicles, offices for the dispatchers and a meeting room for training.
Shelby Public Transit is the demand-responsive, curb-to-curb public transit system in the City of Sidney and Shelby County area. The system began operation in 1980 with two vehicles and limited service within the city limits. Today, public transportation is available to everyone in Shelby County.
Our goal is to offer accessible, clean, safe, and affordable public transportation in Shelby County.
We have 11 vehicles to serve you, 10 with wheelchair lifts. Please let our dispatcher know if you have any special mobility needs so we can better serve you.
Curb-to-Curb service is provided from the curb in front of your
pick-up point to the curb in front of your destination. Passenger
assistance is available upon request. Any passenger may request
the use of the lift to get on or off the vehicle.
The driver will secure down all wheelchairs with a four-point securement system and use our lap belt. The driver will secure all walkers, oxygen tanks and assist with getting the wheelchair on and off the van.
Shelby Public Transit works in cooperation with Shelby County human services agencies and various service organizations that serve Shelby County.
