[ARCHIVED] Sidney Police Department Makes Multiple Arrests After Pursuit

On January 30, 2025, Officers received a FLOCK alert about a stolen vehicle out of Fort Wayne, IN. The stolen vehicle was entered with a caution advising the occupants may be armed and dangerous. 

Officers located the vehicle exiting the Karoc Marathon gas station turning northbound onto Wapakoneta Ave. The vehicle continued southbound on I-75 where officers attempted to stop the vehicle near exit 92. A brief pursuit ensued before the vehicle came to a stop in the 11000 block of Fair Rd. Officers and detectives from the Sidney Police Department and Shelby County Deputies were able to take five subjects into custody. 

During a search of the stolen vehicle, a loaded handgun was located under the driver’s seat. The gun had also been entered as stolen through Fort Wayne, IN. One of the occupants had been entered as a missing juvenile out of Kalamazoo, MI. Another occupant had been entered as a missing Juvenile out of Fort Wayne, IN, and had an active warrant for a parole violation for a weapon offense. 

After contacting the Fort Wayne Police Department, all occupants were suspects in several armed robberies/home invasions in Indiana. After coordinating with the Shelby County Prosecutor’s Office, Shelby County Juvenile Probation, and the Fort Wayne Police Department, the two adults were transported to the Shelby County Jail and three juveniles were transported to West Central Juvenile Detention Center facing multiple felony charges.
