On Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the Sidney Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will provide the public the opportunity to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

Accepted items include:

  • Pills and capsules: Both prescription and over-the-counter medicines are accepted.
  • Solid forms: Tablets, patches, and other solid medications are collected.
  • Vaping devices and cartridges: If the lithium batteries are removed.
  • Liquids, such as cough syrups, must remain tightly sealed in their original containers.

The collection site will not accept:

  • Syringes
  • Sharps
  • Illicit substances
