[ARCHIVED] Pursuit

Sidney Police 1820

While on patrol on April 20, 2021, around 4:00 p.m. Officer Jennings observed a female (Chelsy N. Pollock) who had multiple warrants from Montgomery County and Adult Parole, stopped at a stop sign at Kossuth St. and N. Main Avenue. Officer Jennings turned his emergency lights on to turn his cruiser around and Pollock turned southbound on N. Main Ave.  Officer Jennings turned on his siren and Pollock refused to stop.  Officers pursued Pollock south bound on N. Main Ave. while Pollock was traveling the wrong way on the one way street. Pollock turned west bound on Canal St. went through several intersections and then turned back east bound on Canal St.

While on Canal St. (just before N. Main Ave.), Pollock’s vehicle struck a concrete wall on the south side of the road.  The vehicle was stopped for a short period of time, and Pollock attempted to flee again and struck a fence in the parking lot of Sidney Manufacturing. She then backed up and struck an unoccupied parked vehicle in the same parking lot.

Pollock’s vehicle was pinned in by officer’s vehicles, so she could no longer flee.  Sidney Medics were called to the scene to treat Pollock for minor injuries from the crash.  She was transported to Wilson Hospital for treatment, and later transported to the Shelby County Jail for one of her warrants.

Officers did locate drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle in the area were Pollock was sitting while she was in the vehicle. Not long after the incident was over, Dayton Police Department reported the vehicle Pollock was driving was stolen out of Dayton.

One of Pollock’s active warrants from Montgomery County was found to be also for fleeing and eluding.

The incident remains under investigation, and Charges will be filed at a later date.
