The City of Sidney intends to apply to the Ohio Development Services Agency for funding through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Community Development Program, a federally funded program administered by the State of Ohio. The City is eligible for $150,000 of Fiscal Year 2021 Allocation funding, provided the City meets applicable program requirements. On June 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., the City conducted its first public hearing to inform citizens about the CDBG program, how it may be used, what activities are eligible, and other important program requirements.

Based on both citizen input and local officials’ assessments of the City’s needs, the City is proposing to undertake the following CDBG activities for Fiscal Year 2021

This project will provide funding to low- and moderate-income households to make necessary repairs to their sanitary sewer lateral. The project area is shown on the map. Owner-occupied households in the project area that are determined to be income eligible will be able to apply for assistance with the cost to repair or replace their sanitary sewer lateral.

A second public hearing will be held for the City of Sidney Fiscal Year 2021 Community Development Block Grant Program on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the City Council Chambers, 201 West Poplar Street, Sidney, Ohio, to give citizens an adequate opportunity to review and comment on the City’s CDBG application before it is submitted to the Ohio Development Services Agency.

Citizens are encouraged to attend this public hearing on June 8, 2021 to provide their views and comments on the City’s CDBG application.

If a participant needs auxiliary aids (interpreter, brailed or taped material, assistive listening device, other) due to a disability, the City Hall is a handicap accessible facility.
