[ARCHIVED] Multi-Vehicle Pursuit

Sidney Police 1820

On November 16, 2021, there was a report of a red Audi and a dark colored Jeep driving reckless and brake checking commercial vehicles on I-75 northbound from the area of Piqua.

Officer J. Kennedy and Officer N. Zimmer were on I-75 and observed the vehicles getting off at exit 90 onto Fair Road.  Officer J. Kennedy tried to stop the red Audi and the car sped up to speeds in excess of 100mph. The driver then bailed on foot leaving the car to coast into a parked vehicle on N. West Ave in the area of Piper Street.

Officer Zimmer went after the dark colored Jeep and it too refused to stop and led Officer Zimmer on a pursuit in excess of 100mph. The driver and passenger of the Jeep bailed on foot and were apprehended by Officer Zimmer and deputies from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

It was learned that both vehicles were stolen from Miami County.  Two subjects have been charged in connection with the Jeep and the investigation on the driver of the red Audi is under way.
