The Sidney Municipal Court is now online with Electronic Filing services through the CourtView case management system. This new filing option allows attorneys and self-represented individuals to file new and subsequent filings on Civil and Small Claims cases electronically. Attorneys may now register on the Court’s website. Attorneys registering for the first time will need to provide a valid email address and Supreme Court Registration Number.
The Electronic Filing site is a new option for filers, but it is not required that documents be submitted through this site at this time. The Court will continue to accept mail, fax, and in-person filings for Civil and Small Claims.
Municipal Court also recently implemented a new credit card payment system through CourtView. The new payment system provides the public detailed information about how much money is owed to the Court and dates for when payment on outstanding balances is due. The system provides a case by case breakdown of amounts due for individuals who owe on multiple cases at the same time as well as a breakdown of the type of money owed, whether it is restitution, court costs, or fines. The system also notifies individuals who have an amount that is past due, which is especially helpful for people who are on payment plans with the Court and are required to make monthly payments.
The new system went live on December 1, 2021, and has been a great success. The Court has received positive feedback from the public about being able to see the detailed breakdown of what is due without having to call the Court.
