Choice One Engineering will soon be commencing a study, on behalf of the city, to determine the best route to connect downtown Sidney and Tawawa Park to the northern trailhead of the Canal Feeder Trail which is located at the rear of Graceland Cemetery. The study will consider the use existing roadways as well as the potential development of new trailways. Once the route is defined the ultimate goal is to connect historic downtown and Tawawa Park to the rest of the Great Miami Riverway Trail from Sidney to Hamilton Ohio.
The city was recently awarded a $13,330 grant through the Monarch Machine Tool Company Legacy Fund, a fund administered through the Community Foundation of Shelby County to help offset the cost of the study.
Thank you to Sidney Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director Jeff Raible for his assistance in submitting the successful grant application.
