The news recently arrived that AES Ohio (formerly Dayton Power & Light) would be increasing their electric rates $ 0.06 per kWh effective June 1 resulting in the typical residential customer’s rate increasing to $0.109 per kWh, or about $60 per month. Participants in the Sidney Electric Aggregation program are currently paying $0.0499 per kWh, and will not be impacted by AES Ohio’s rate increase, as the price is contractually guaranteed through December 2024.
The city’s current supplier is Energy Harbor LLC. Residents interested in enrolling in the city’s aggregation program should call Energy Harbor at 866.636.3749.
If you are presently under contract with another electric supplier and want to make the switch to the Sidney aggregation program, be sure to read the terms and conditions of your current contract to determine if there are any applicable early termination fees or other penalties.
Residents who are unsure if they are enrolled in the city's aggregation program should check their most recent electric bill to see if Energy Harbor is listed as the current supplier of choice or should contact Energy Harbor directly. City staff does not have access to electric utility account information and will be unable to provide enrollment verification.
