[ARCHIVED] Deadline to Order from Tree Sale is October 7

The Sidney Tree Board 2022 Tree Sale is underway. The trees selected to be a part of the sale this year include:

  • Alleghany Serviceberry –Copper‐red fall foliage. Fragrant white flowers in the spring. 15’ – 25’ 6’‐7’ $39
  • Pawpaw - Large, long, tear‐drop shaped leaves. Blossoms deep maroon. Late summer fruits. 
  • River Birch – Cinnamon brown to parchment exfoliating bark. Golden fall color. Prefers acidic soil. 
  • Black Cherry - Flowers bottle brush shaped, fragrant clusters in spring. Dark Green leaves turn yellow in Fall. 
  • Chinquapin Oak – Dark green leaves in summer turn yellow‐orange in Fall. Produces 1” acorns. Light grey bark. 
  • American Basswood – Bark is light brown to gray. Blooms late May to July pale yellow to whitish fragrant flowers. 

Trees will be delivered in five or seven gallon containers and available for pick up at the City of Sidney Service Center, 415 South Vandemark Road on October 29, 2022, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Please drop off or mail orders to: City of Sidney Service Center, 415 South Vandemark Road, Sidney, Ohio 45365, along with a check or money order payable to the City of Sidney. Cash or Credit Card payment will not be accepted. Order forms can be found online or are available for pick up at City Hall and attached to this newsletter.

Due to the mature height of the trees, they can only be planted on private property.

No delivery, planting or warranty is provided by the City of Sidney.
