2022 Firefighter of the Year Announced

Firefighter of the Year Scott Marchal receives his award from Fire Chief Chad Hollinger

The Sidney Department of Fire and Emergency Services has announced that Scott Marchal has been named Firefighter of the Year for 2022. 

Marchal has been with the department for 15 years and has distinguished himself as a strong leader with a solid work ethic. He continues to develop not only his own knowledge and skills, but also the knowledge and skills of those around him.  

Marchal is a certified firefighter/ EMT-Paramedic. He serves the department and community as an active American Heart Association CPR instructor. Additionally, Marchal is a state certified Fire Instructor and has taught in numerous classes.

During his career, Scott has been recognized many times for his professional and caring performance on calls.
