Police Sirens with word Drug Bust

On April 30, 2023, Sidney Patrol Officer Hayden Bronne, working in conjunction with the Sidney Narcotics unit, executed a traffic stop leading to an arrest of a Sidney resident who was in possession of approximately 8 grams of Methamphetamine and 6 grams of Fentanyl. Arrested and placed in the Shelby County Jail was Greg Johnson Jr, age 34, who resides at 614 Catalpa Place, Sidney Ohio.

The Sidney Narcotics unit, having an active investigation involving Johnson, led investigators to believe that Johnson was travelling from Dayton to Sidney with the narcotics.   At around 8:38 PM Patrol Officer Bronne located the vehicle committing a traffic violation at which point Officer Bronne executed a traffic stop.  A narcotics sniffing dog from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office was called to the traffic stop location, obtaining a positive alert.   At which point the narcotics were found on Johnson.

This arrest is a continuing effort by the Sidney Police Department to combat drug abuse and drug trafficking in Sidney. Information resulting in this warrant was derived in part from concerned citizens.  All citizens are asked that if they have any information about drug activity to contact the Sidney Police Department at 937-498-2351 or Crime Stoppers at 937-492-8477 (TIPS).
