History
Research completed by Cheryl Michaels and Janet Ross 2009.
Roadside Park is located at 900 S Main. The land was purchased by the City of Sidney on March 24th, 1902 at a Sheriff's auction. The Court of Common Please required John W. Gerdes to sell this property to pay a $1,554 settlement awarded to Frank D. Reed.
Sheriff A. Brandewie was ordered to appraise, advertise the sale, and auction the property in December of 1901. The property sold for $3,700. This 7.5 acre park were at one time part of the 22 plus acres sold at the Sheriff auction.
